Andrew Carnegie would applaud our accomplishments, then he would give us a new challenge to reach even higher.

Since 1902, Carnegie Hall has been an important landmark in Lewisburg. Originally serving as an auditorium and classroom building for the Greenbrier College for Women, it has been - for the past 22 years - the stage for world-class performances and the community's classroom for inspiring educational programs.

Our $3 million restoration initiative, completed during the 1990s, breathed new life into this historic structure.

Since the inception of Carnegie Hall, Inc. as a not-for-profit corporation in 1983, its mission has been to restore and maintain this 103-year-old structure and operate as a regional arts and education center. Individuals, businesses, private foundations and public organizations have all given countless hours, expertise, energy and dollars to revitalize Carnegie Hall into one of the most active and exciting art centers in West Virginia.

The Carnegie Hall Foundation, Inc. was established in 2005 to create an endowment for Carnegie Hall, Inc. that will ensure the ongoing operation of this extraordinary regional arts and education center. It is the goal of the Foundation to raise $10 million for this endowment to support the artistic and educational work of Carnegie Hall and serve as a buffer against economic downturns. It will ensure that Carnegie Hall will be here for future generations.

Organizations with clear goals and a well-defined sense of mission recognize that building a strong endowment enables them to weather economic downturns and ensure long-term survival. Endowments have become the sign of fiscally responsible, well-prepared and forward-thinking not-for-profit corporations.

Reestablishing the Carnegie Hall Foundation, Inc. is a vital step in the growth of this important organization. Please join us to secure the future of Carnegie Hall - one of West Virginia's finest treasures.

There are a variety of ways you can make tax-deductible contributions to the Carnegie Hall Foundation, Inc. We're counting on you to join us to keep the legacy of Carnegie Hall alive. Please contact Vivian Conly, President, to discuss the many different ways you can support the Carnegie Hall Foundation, Inc.
