The Holmes Brothers January 15, 2010 | 7:30pm Since 1979 the Holmes brothers have been bringing their brand of gospel inflected spiritually moving and funky music to audiences around the world. Their spine-tingling harmonies, boundless energy and telepathic musicianship mix Saturday night's roadhouse rock with the gospel fervor and harmonies of Sunday's church service. The New York Times calls their sound “deeply soulful, uplifting and timeless”. The Chicago Tribune refers to them as “the undisputed masters of blues-based American roots music.” The London Times says “their rhythms take over your body while their voices go straight for your heart.” Their soul warming sounds are just what is needed to chase the winter blues away!

This tour engagement of The Holmes Brothers is funded through the American Masterpieces programs of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius, a major initiative to acquaint Americans with the best of their cultural and artistic legacy.
