The Dueling Fiddlers: Adam Degraff and Russell Fallstad A Benefit Concert for Carnegie Hall April 16, 2010 | 7:30pm Ticketed reception to follow Russell and Adam play the violin. They've been close friends for over twenty years and have a lot in common. They trained together at one of the world’s finest music schools, studied with the same teacher, and upon graduation, each quickly soared to the highest levels of the classical music world. However, both felt like something was missing and each left the comfortable confines of the classical world on a quest to find musical freedom. This is where their paths crossed once again. There has always been a friendly rivalry between Adam and Russell. Now, to settle things once and for all, they take it to the stage, square off fiddle to fiddle, and let the audience decide who's boss. As the duel rages on, they improvise on the spot and use their classical technique to traverse a vast range of musical styles, from Bach to rock, blues to bluegrass, and old standards to modern pop. The Dueling Fiddlers show is a truly memorable experience where you can expect to see a combination of extreme fiddling and passionate violin playing while Adam and Russell push each other and their instruments to the limit. |
